Noche muy mexicana en la 90º entrega del Oscar
La 90 gala de los Oscar destacó por el gran triunfo de México. Guillermo del Toro se llevó el Oscar al mejor director y a la mejor película por La Forma del Agua. Además esta producción consiguió dos estatuillas más por Diseño de producción y Música Original. El discurso del director mexicano fue optimista y muy feliz: “Cuando era niño pensé que esto no podía ocurrir, pero ha ocurrido. Usar la fantasía para contar historias es un don, es una puerta que hay que derribar y entrar”. Coco ha sido la otra película triunfadora de la noche. Consiguió el Oscar a la mejor película animada y a la mejor canción ‘Recuérdame’.
Frances McDormand ha sido la que ha ganado el Oscar a la mejor actriz por Tres anuncios en las afueras. Un papel duro, pero que le ha servido para triunfar en Los Ángeles y ganar su segunda estatuilla. El que se estrenada, pese a su maravillosa carrera fue Gary Oldman. El actor británico consiguió su primer Oscar por su interpretación de Winston Churchill en El Instante Más Oscuro. Otro de los Oscar cantados era el de Sam Rockwell, premio al mejor actor de reparto por su papel en Tres Anuncios en las Afueras. Destacar el premio para Chile para una Mujer Fantástica como mejor película extranjera.
